I think the national ID is one of the biggest violations of the constitution the government can possibly do next to a gun ban. The constitution strictly authorizes the states to issue drivers licenses and the federal government to issue social security numbers. It doesn't give the federal government to handle all identification especially on an universal level. Too bad none of the current politicians are willing to get rid of it. It's sad that people are willing to give up their liberties and privacy for "convience and security."

I actually wasn't aware it was an issue in the states, sounds similar to over here really. I wouldn't trust any government not to use the information it has access to to control rather than protect it's citizens. The more info they have, the easier it is for them to make sure their interests are served, rather than those of the ordinary citizen.

Most sheeple might be against ID cards and central databases now (here anyway, not sure about in the US) but if there was another 9/11 they'd be happily lining up to get in that database while they send their sons and daughters to kill more arabs. After all, they are at war.

How many governments have used the cover or war to pass legislation reducing civil liberties? I'm not surprised that, with the media's help, ours convinced the sheeple that this war they created was a just fight in defence of freedom. I just wonder whether control and power at home was just as important as resources and strategic positions overseas from the start.

They are both obviously very good with NO being better of the two but is NO really the best team or is the 9 and 1 Vikings the best team?  I believe they are.  What do you think?

If universal health care gets in, I bet the seniors wont get the shots.  Then they will be able to get rid of a bunch of us at one time.
